The vision of the St. Petersburg Library System is to enhance the quality of life by providing comprehensive library services for the St. Petersburg community.

The St. Petersburg Library System’s service philosophy is to enhance the provision of programs, resources and services focused on the education, economy, ecology, equity, efficiency and engagement of the city of St. Petersburg, Florida, consistent with its community development plan.

Volunteers are an integral part of our team, significantly enhancing our ability to offer and support the high quality services and programming demanded by our diverse community. We believe that the mission of the Library and our service philosophy are best achieved by the active participation of volunteers who bring their own unique skills, knowledge and vitality to our staff. We are committed to the recruitment, training and support of volunteers to ensure their continued involvement in Library services and to develop this resource to its fullest.
